THE MILLENNIAL TEMPLE

With the carrying away of the Jews into Babylon by Nebuchadnezzar, The House of David, The Throne of David, The Crown of David and the Kingdom of David were done away and not one of these has been restored nor will be restored until Jesus the Messiah returns to rule and reign for one thousand years at the Millennium Temple as described by Ezekiel.

Since AD 70, the Jews have had no temple. as predicted by Hosea the prophet in 746 BC: "For the children of Israel shall abide many days without a king and without a prince, and without a sacrifice and without an ephod ...Afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the LORD their God, and David their king; and shall fear the LORD and his goodness in the latter days."

We read in Zechariah, "Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH; and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the LORD: Even he shall build the temple of the LORD; and he shall bear the glory and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and he shall be a priest upon his throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them both" (Zech 6:12-13). In several prophetical passages the Messiah is referred to as "the Branch" who will sit on the throne of David to rule the world. "And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots" (Isa 11:1). "Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth" (Jer 23:5). In Luke, the angel Gabriel proclaimed, "He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end" (Luke 1:32-33).

In AD 634, the temple mount was taken over by the Muslims. In 1099, the crusaders captured it and turned the mosques into churches. Saladin returned it to Arab rule in 1187. The Jews liberated the temple mount from Jordanian control in the Six-Day War of 1967, but later returned it to the custody of the Muslim Waqf (Jordan). Today, the "Dome of the Rock" is situated near the centre of the temple mount, with the Al Aqsa Mosque at its southern end..

THE MILLENNIAL TEMPLE
In April 572 B.C. during Passover (14 years after the destruction of Solomon's Temple) Ezekiel was given a detailed plan and specifications for the Temple, the place of worship during the Millennium.

The Millennial temple: "As described in Ezekiel (40:5 to 42:20), the outer dimensions of the temple complex form a square, 875 feet (500 cubits) across and in length. The temple faces east, as did the tabernacle and the temples of Solomon and of the Exile. The south, east, and north sides have an outer wall. Thirty rooms were also built on the second and third levels. The temple itself projects from inside the western wall, It has outer courts on three sides :south, east, and north, 175 feet in width. The very first features of the Millennial Temple described are the walls and gates (Ezekiel 40:5-37). The gates are complex security devices that must be passed by authorized persons only in order to enter the inner and outer courts (Ezekiel 40:5-16 20-37). Numerous cherubim adorn the temple (Ezekiel 41:17-20, 25). In the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3:24) a purpose of cherubim was to keep persons out of unauthorized areas.

The temple area sets inside a huge magnificent park called "the Sacred Area" 43,750 by 35,000 feet or 8.3 by 6.6 miles. whose southern entrance lies at Jerusalem

There will be feasts and sacrifices. Prophecy reveals that sacrifices will still be kept and the Law of Moses strictly followed. ...The sacrifices will serve only as types and symbols. The millennial sacrifices do not save They serve as a memorial of what Jesus the Messiah had already done on the cross. In Ezekiel 44 burnt offerings and sin offerings and trespass offerings are mentioned (40:39). The bullock, the he-goat, and the ram are to be offered (43:19-25). The blood is to be sprinkled on the altar (43:18). The meal offering is also incorporated (42:13). Morning sacrifices will be offered daily (46:13). The priests who are Levites are to officiate (43:19). Moreover, several feasts will also be instituted. The Passover feast will be observed again (45:21-25) and the feast of unleavened bread (Ezekiel 45:21) and annually the feast of tabernacles will be commemorated (45:25).The laws and statutes delivered by Moses will be obeyed (Ezekiel 44:24). Ezekiel 44:25 and 31 The year of Jubilee will be observed also (43:4-5).Only the sons of Zadok. (Zadok was a priest who was loyal to David and Solomon in times of rebellion ) will serve as Priests. There is no ark of the covenant, no pot of manna, no rod of Aaron, no tables of the Law, no cherubim, no mercy-seat, no golden candlestick, no shewbread, no veil, no Holy of Holies where the high priest alone might enter, no high priest, no evening sacrifice, etc. The new things added are the glory of the Lord entering and abiding forever, the living waters that flow from beneath the altar that Ezekiel saw flowing from under the Temple of God. The water started as a small stream that increased in size, the farther it traveled. The stream began ankle-deep, then knee-deep, then waist-deep, and then he couldn't cross the river.(probably 3 miles wide in places ) ....Ezek. 47:1to12. Wonderful trees of healing line the banks. The Living waters flow from the huge Temple park grounds alongside a highway that travels South 6 miles to Jerusalem and then splits into two branches. One branch flows East to the Dead Sea which will rise, the other West to the Mediterranean. What effect will this have on the Dead Sea? The Dead Sea is about 10 miles wide and 50 miles long running north and south on along the eastern side of Judea. Its northern end is about as far north as Jerusalem.

Some scholars feel the Millennial Temple will be
located at Shiloh about 20 miles north of Jerusalem

"Then said he to me, These waters issue out toward the east country, and go down into the desert, and go into the (Dead) sea: which being brought forth into the sea, the waters shall be healed. And it shall come to pass, that every thing that lives, which moves, wherever the rivers shall come, shall live: and there shall be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters shall come thither: for they shall be healed; and every thing shall live whither the river comes. And it shall come to pass, that fishermen shall stand upon it from Engedi even unto Eneglaim; they shall be a place to spread forth nets; their fish shall be according to their kinds, as the fish of the great sea, very, very many. " Ezekiel 47:8-10

Life Spans Increased ... Isaiah 65:20-25 says, "There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that has not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed. And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them. They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands. They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the LORD, and their offspring with them. And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear. The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD." .... In the genealogy from Adam to Noah given in Genesis 5 and 9:29, there are extremely long life spans. We find that eight lived between 895 and 969 years. After the great flood, there was a rapid drop in life span to a little over 400 years. Around the time of the tower of Babel, life spans dropped to a little over 200 years. Then they began to slowly decrease to more modern life spans over a period of hundreds of years. In Isaiah 65:20-25

We see normal, everyday life taking place in the Millennium We see activities like building houses, living in them, planting vineyards, eating fruit, bearing children, and sometimes even death. All of these people and their descendants will be capable of both sin and death in the millennial kingdom, even though Satan will be in chains and unable to influence them.

THE WEATHER IN JERUSALEM

The land varies from the Eastern semi-arid desert plateau, covered with grasslands, scrub brush and desert flowers; westward to the lowest point on the face of the earth, the Jordan Rift Valley, 1300 feet below sea level; to the central hill country with peaks 2,500 feet above sea level; to the fertile Western coastal plains bordering the Mediterranean Sea with lush vineyards, wheat fields, olive and fig trees These diverse land forms, along with the winds and precipitation, means the weather varies from place to place and season to season. Annual rainfall on the western slopes averages 25 inches, on the east only 12 inches.
